Chloé Hoeben obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town in 1998, followed up by her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy (Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy)
from the University of Stellenbosch in 2013. She is licensed both by the Health Professionals Council of South Africa, as well as the Dubai Health Authority.
After an initial position in a hospital and out-patient practice in Cape Town where Chloé treated a variety of both surgical and non-surgical issues, she then went to London and worked in 2 clinics and seeing more of the world. On her return, she again worked in a combined in-patient and out-patient clinic where the majority of her work was post orthopedic surgery and management, as well as neuromusculoskeletal injuries.
She worked together with the doctors at the clinic to provide the best possible outcome for their injuries and pain. After her second child was born, Chloé started her own practice and worked in her own clinic for 10 years seeing a broad spectrum of clients. The challenge of completing a Masters in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy was embraced as it enriched not only Chloé’s experience as a practitioner, but also opened up more areas of management for her clients.
Chloé has a passion for her profession which is expressed in her holistic approach to all her clients. She continues to update her knowledge with courses and articles so that she can offer the best possible and
most up-to-date treatment approaches possible. Chloé combines various aspects of physiotherapy in her treatments, starting with a thorough and detailed assessment, and using modalities such as specific soft tissue mobilization, Mulligan’s techniques, dry needling, pilates, and rehabilitation.
Her focus is to enable optimal recovery from an injury. With the new evidence on how we perceive pain and what pain actually is, Chloé has been inspired to improve her and her client’s understanding of their experience and healing. She endeavors to always get client engagement in their healing process as passive treatment and involvement are not as successful or long lasting as active and educated involvement.
Chloé participates in many activities such as surf skiing, walking, running, tennis, occasionally golf, and swimming. She loves hiking in any part of the world where there is a new perspective or view, especially if with her family.
The move to Dubai in early 2020 has given Chloé the opportunity to share her abilities more broadly, as well as to learn even more ways to help and manage clients’ injuries. It has been an inspiring time. Now, working in the Franklin Chiropractor and Physiotherapy Center.
